Chamber Training Institute of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation
Since its inception in 2002, the MAHCC has invested itself in furthering the free enterprise system as the foundation for our economic growth and in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of the Hispanic community. Therefore, from the start the MAHCC partnered with organizations such as the US Hispanic Chamber (USHCC) and US Chamber (USCC) as well as related local, state and national business organizations to leverage corporate and public support for the MAHCC mission and to ensure that Latino and Latina entrepreneurs in the mid-Atlantic region succeed in the business world. Moreover, for the past five yeas, the MAHCC has developed a special relationship with the USHCC Foundation to help our entrepreneurial members to become successful business people, expand their horizons and assume progressive levels of responsibility in local, national and even international leadership roles.
This partnership with the Foundation is helping the MAHCC strengthen its educational programs, which are aimed at preparing Latino entrepreneurs of all ages for a life-long commitment to learning and to enhancing their critical thinking, leadership and entrepreneurship skills.
To further its support to the MAHCC and the over 200 Hispanic Chambers nationwide, the USHCC created the Chamber Training Institute. Under a Wells Fargo grant funding since 2010, the USHCC Foundation has partnered with the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business to offer a customized training program with curriculum that offers deep levels of engagement and advanced business leadership skills.
Using an innovative training series developed by Notre Dame's Mendoza School of Business, the Institute builds the capacity of USHCC chamber members by offering entrepreneurial and executive technical assistance, and support and resources so they can in turn strengthen and build their own businesses and communities.
Wells Fargo's Generous Support for the Chamber Training Institute
The USHCC Foundation is offering this opportunity to chamber leaders, board of directors and staff. And because of the USHCC Foundation's strategic partnership with Wells Fargo, participation in the Chamber Training Institute seminars is free to MAHCC chamber staff and to our volunteer leaders.
At the USHCC 2013 National Convention in Chicago, Wells Fargo contributed $700,000 to continue funding the Chamber Training program.
"Wells Fargo is pleased to support the Chamber Training Institute for the third consecutive year. With an improving economy and greater confidence among small business owners, this program provides local chambers with technical assistance they can provide to their local members to help sustain and grow their businesses," said Denise Miles, Wells Fargo National Partnership Manager.
The MAHCC joins the USHCC in thanking Wells Fargo for supporting a transformational program that not only strengthens the organizational and operational activities of Hispanic Chambers of Commerce nationwide but helps promote the economic development of the Hispanic community in the U.S.
